Listening To The Pain

In this fast paced life that we are all a part of, it can be easy to rush through the day without taking time to connect with yourself and check in with your own needs.

In my last Facebook post (check out our page if you haven’t already), I made a post about listening to your body’s whisper or scream.

The point I was making was that you can either take action on the small levels of pain or discomfort that you may feel (the whisper) or wait until they become debilitating (the scream) to take action. In the long run, it’s much easier to act when small things come up, but many of us (myself included) wait until things are super painful or uncomfortable to make a change.

Self management is something that we can all improve on, and the journey starts with honesty with ourselves. If we are honestly trying our best and seeking to improve each day, I think that is a good starting point.

So my invitation is to be clear and honest with your wants and needs, and what it means to be the best version of yourself (that will look different for all of us).

So take enough quiet time each day to shut out the busy world just for a few minutes, and get in touch with your needs. Listen to the whisper instead of the scream.
